Blue light sound familiar to you?
Probably not, it is also known as high energy visible (HEV) light. It comes from your computers, TVs and smart phones.
As published in Shape Magazine’s November issue; HEV is said to penetrate the skin more deeply than UV rays and damage collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. There is some evidence that the light may also worsen pigmentation problems, such as Melasma (brown splotches). There is no true evidence tying it to skin cancers and deep wrinkles. Although it is still too new for long-term study results. Even if you wear your sunscreen daily, many formulas don’t protect against HEV.
