Preterm labor is defined as regular contractions associated with cervical change before the completion of 37wks of pregnancy. Spontaneous preterm labor includes preterm birth, preterm premature rupture of membranes, cervical incompetence. Some risk factors include history of preterm labor, infection, uterine malformation, multiple gestation, hemorrhage or abruption, and cervical incompetence.
